- Pharmacological effects
- The antimicrobial spectrum of methylsulfonylmethamphetamine is similar to that of chloramphenicol, with inhibitory effects on a variety of gram-positive and negative bacteria, but slightly weaker effects on certain Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and pneumococcus.
It is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration, widely distributed in the body, with high tissue content and strong antibacterial activity.
Methylsulfonylmethamphetamine is not metabolized in the liver and is excreted as a prototype by the kidneys.
- Indications
- Swine: for the treatment of porcine infectious atrophic rhinitis, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRDC), infectious pleuropneumonia, asthma, pneumonic disease, yellow-white dysentery in piglets, paratyphoid fever and so on.
Poultry: used for the treatment of chronic respiratory disease, air sacculitis, duck infectious plasmacytitis, cholera, E. coli disease, salmonellosis, etc.
Aquatic: used to treat hemorrhagic disease, enteritis, erythroderma, rotting tail disease and other bacterial infections.
- Usage and dosage
- Swine: 2 ml per 10 kg body weight, twice a day for 3-5 days.
Poultry: 4 ml per 10 kg body weight, twice a day, for 3-5 days.
Calves: 4 ml per 10 kg body weight, 2 times a day, for 3-5 days.
Aquatic animals: 0.35g per 1kg body weight at one time.
- Precautions
- Not for use in animals allergic to methylsulfonylmethamphetamine.
Contraindicated in animals with renal insufficiency.
Contraindicated in animals during vaccination or with impaired immune function.
Avoid combining with penicillin, cephalosporin, aminoglycosides to avoid antagonism.
It should be shaken well when used, and the drug drinking water should be used up within 24 hours.
