Within 24 hours after administration in horses, allergic reactions may occur due to the death of Onchocerca larvae. These reactions typically manifest as edema and itching around the injection site.
When used to treat Hypoderma (cattle grub) infestations in cattle, severe adverse reactions may occur if the larvae are located in critical areas of the body. For example, larvae in the spinal canal can cause paralysis or ataxia, while larvae in the esophagus can lead to salivation or bloat.
In dogs, shock-like reactions may occur when treating infections with microfilariae, likely due to the death of these parasites.
In poultry, adverse effects such as mortality, somnolence, or anorexia may be observed.
During injection, discomfort or temporary edema at the injection site may occur.
Precautions
Cattle and sheep must not be treated within 21 days before slaughter; camels must not be treated within 28 days before slaughter.
